These cute little kangaroo-like marsupials wander freely around the campgrounds at Narawntapu National Park. I'd been sitting inside the motorhome watching them but was too lazy to go out in the rain until my wife mentioned how good they looked.

That was enough to get me outside laying on the wet grass and mud under an umbrella with my beautiful 300 2.8 lens.

The use of a relatively slow shutter speed (1/60th) ensured that the drops blurred and the animal's rotary motion was obvious, thus enhancing the effect. In this case, freezing the action with a fast shutter speed would have resulted in a less effective photo.

Eventually I got too cold and too wet so retreated to the warmth of our motorhome and assumed my preferred position, sitting in my recliner.
