Welcome to a new section to robgray.com, here I plan to feature short essays about various aspects of life on the road and indeed life in general.
Whether a pithy anecdote or a small spleen vent, if I think the subject is worth a place under the spot light rather than being lost in the Chronicles I'll put it here.
I also plan to drag some articles up from the bowels of this site, from places that I'm sure nobody has visited in years if at all.
There is no particular subject matter or area of interest here, anything goes but there will be three broad areas I will concentrate on...
Living on the road
This is a no-brainer really given the gist of the majority of this web site, where to find water, how to deal with mail, where can you camp. These are subjects I plan to address.
I think it's fair to say that our lifestyle is verging on being a model of living simply, we can still make improvements but we're doing pretty well in that regard.
And then there's society in general, a bloated consuming juggernaut that really should be put down.
The art of living simply has been pretty much lost, but there is a glimmer of hope on the horizon and the living simply movement is gaining momentum. I see and hear of more and more people deciding that a simpler lifestyle is the path to contentment.
And it's not just us old farts who have seen the light, most of the people I read about are young.
I find I'm less and less tolerant of idiots, politicians (did I need to have two categories there?) , TV, advertisements, inequalities, dogma etc. This is the grumpy old man talking.
